I am a poet and essayist, a teacher and educational leader, a builder of community. I believe in creating spaces for people to explore their intellectual and creative lives and to connect with others. For nearly a decade I directed Free Minds, an affiliate of the Clemente Course in the Humanities offering free college humanities classes to those who have faced barriers to the classroom. I am now Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Clemente Course, acting as “chief storyteller” for national and local initiatives. My work has appeared in the Washington Post, The Sun, and Oxford American.
I am a voice for educational equity, a zealous sharer of poems, and a maker of first-class soups. Contact me if you want to chat.
